I felt so domestic this weekend. Friday after we got home from work, we ran around the house like maniacs doing some last minute cleaning, and ate dinner standing at the kitchen counter. Keeping it classy! We were having some of Gregg’s friends from work over. We’ve barely had anyone over to our house since we moved in, mainly because we moved 40 minutes north of where we used to live, and all our friends still live down there. So it’s really nice to be able to make new friends in our area!
We sat around and gorged ourselves on chips and salsa, white wine and teddy grahams! I’ve never seen a group of adults go through a whole box of chocolate chip teddy grahams so quickly, it was pretty funny how much we loved them. We played Wii and a long game of Apples to Apples (which I won!) Murphy was so thrilled to have a house full of new, adoring fans and hung out with us most of the night until he got too tired. I didn’t take any pictures; since these are new friends, I didn’t want to seem creepy haha.
Saturday night we went out for my friend’s birthday. It was a pretty chill night, we just hung out and drank a couple Magic Hats and a gummy bear shot.
And Sunday…I did not change out of my pajamas all day. It snowed a lot unexpectedly, so we stayed home all day and got a ton done around the house. It was already pretty clean from Friday, so Gregg organized our nightmare-ish files, which we really needed considering we need to have our taxes done soon. I cleaned my tornado disaster zone of a bedroom (one of our spare rooms that I’ve claimed as mine). I should have taken a before picture of it; there were literally clothes EVERYWHERE. I managed to get them all hung up, put some of them in a bag to donate, threw some stuff out, and vacuumed the floor. It’s still not perfect, the bed itself is repulsive because Yoshi’s cat hair is all over it, but if someone happens to stay the night, I’ll wash the sheets then
Lately, I’ve been cooking and baking a lot:
- I made these omelette muffin things (I used this recipe from Pinterest). I used 8 large eggs, ham, green pepper and onion in ours. It made 12 muffins, so we had breakfast for about 3 days straight. They’re really good eaten with Pillsbury buscuits.
- 2 flavors of smoothies yesterday. I used orange, mango, peach juice from Trader Joe’s & 1 banana in both, but I added frozen strawberies to one of them, and frozen mango to the other (about 1 cup of frozen fruit along with the banana makes 2 smoothies).
- With 3 other bananas, I made this banana bread. I skipped the cinnamon part of the recipe, cut down the sugar a little bit, and added semi-sweet chocolate chips. It turned out REALLY well, but I think if I make it with chocolate chips again, I’m going to cut down the sugar even more.
Clean living room on Friday night. I love the dark purple color we went with in this room.
This area was all filled with piles of clothes and other random junk.
I may need to look back at this post and have these pictures of my room inspire me at some point…
